- Obtain VIN from Vehicle and insurance card (throw away old ones when expired, for state inspection must be current today).
- Drive or observe vehicle for brake performance -Inspect for brake pedal height and check wheel and master cylinder for leakage master cylinder fluid level - check break hoses and rods or cables for cracks or bad spots - head light(s) beam indicator (if equipped) tail light(s) and reflectors must be working and present - stop light and turn signals if equipped - horn - frame, fork, steering head bearing, handle bars (including height), - front and rear wheel tracking (alignment) - wheel bearings and grease retainers (grinding bearings means failure is imminent) -front and rear shock absorbers -tires, wheels, and rims -exhaust system and muffler -windshield (if equipped) -fuel tank, filler cap, and fuel line connections |
